Rixon is runaway winner

THE Landsend open Christmas match produced mixed sport in poor weather conditions.

Mosella star matchman Tony Rixon showed a clean pair of heels to all his rivals for a runaway victory with a carp catch weighing 88lb 6oz, taken on legered sweetcorn and pellets.

Andy Oram, of Dynamite Baits, was a distant runner-up with a carp and skimmer catch weighing 42lb 5oz, taken on legered sweetcorn. He was followed by Dave Ings, of Thatchers Tackle, with another carp and skimmer catch weighing 35lb 13oz, taken on legered sweetcorn and red maggots.

Andy Oram took the silver fish prize with a weight of 19lb 3oz.
