From the Wiltshire Times, first published Tuesday 25th Dec 2007.
A 13-year-old budding Lewis Hamilton from Tormarton who only started racing in August has won the Junior Autumn Kart Championship at Castle Combe.
Gareth McBraida, who attends Kingswood School in Bath, was introduced to karting earlier this year after attending a birthday party fun event at the circuit.
Gareth clinched his first title at the season finale by taking three wins in the heats and winning the final from pole position. His total points score for the year was 118, winning from Basingstoke's Josh Rappolt on 115 points and George Lynch from Bristol on 112.
Youngsters wishing to have an introduction to karting at Castle Combe and potentially following in the footsteps of Lewis Hamilton must be aged between 10 and 15 years old and at least 4'8" tall.
Championship results and information on the junior championship and morning training sessions can be found on www.combe-events.co.uk or by calling Laura or Marie on (01249) 783010.
