Christmas candle sparks blaze

AN UNATTENDED candle sparked a blaze at a Swindon home.

The fire started just after midnight on Saturday when a lit candle set light to some greenery.

The heat from that fire melted computer equipment stored nearby.

The householders draped a wet cloth over the blaze and called firefighters for help.

When two fire crews arrived at the scene they found the fire was out and so used a giant fan to clear the house of smoke.
