Daylight robbery at Swindon supermarket

TWO men who punched a shop assistant and stole cash from a Swindon supermarket are being hunted by police.

The robbers struck at 2.15pm on Saturday at the Co-Op store on Sussex Square.

The two men entered the shop and queued at one of the tills.

When they got to the front one of the assistants was punched by one of the men, who then demanded cash.

After the cash was handed over the men ran out of the shop.

The first robber was white, aged between 20 and 30, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 9ins tall with a medium build.

The second white male was about 6ft tall.
