Fletcher moves from Melksham to the West End

From the Wiltshire Times, first published Wednesday 12th Dec 2007.

THIRD Division Chippenham West End Club have added some firepower to their front line by signing 20-year-old Ashley Fletcher from AFC Melksham.

The striker, who was unable to hold down a regular spot at Melksham, will be hoping to prove a point to his former club that they have let a good man go.

Fletcher, who was up against the likes of Luke Ballinger, Gareth Evans, Wayne Bailey, Andy Harrison and Mark James, who is set to return from suspension, never really got the chance to prove what he could do, so a move to the West End might just prove to be the right decision.

Fletcher scored seven goals for Melksham from limited appearances and with a new challenge ahead of him he might just be the man to get the West End club back on the winning track.
