Students raise money to help classmate

From the The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald, first published Wednesday 12th Dec 2007.

PUPILS at Lavington School are raising money for the charity CLIC Sargent next week in memory of their classmate Amy Pottinger, who lost her brave battle with leukaemia in October.

The students will hold a pink themed non-uniform day at the comprehensive school in Market Lavington next Tuesday, December 18.

Each one will make a donation to the charity for the privilege of not wearing their uniform. They will, however, wear a pink item of clothing in memory of Amy.

At lunchtime Amy's parents, Debbie and Andrew, will visit the school to help plant a pink-flowering tree in her memory.

The day will conclude with a concert by students. All proceeds will go to CLIC Sargent.
