Christian Malford manager quits to join rivals

From the Wiltshire Times, first published Saturday 24th Nov 2007.

CHRISTIAN Malford manager Ben Munns has left the First Division club to join Second Division promotion challengers White Hart Combe.

Munns can play in a variety of positions. Although he played in goal for Christian Malford, he will probably play in central defence of upfront for White Hart Combe, who are currently fourth in the table and are still in both the WG Parr Trophy and the Eric Hughes Memorial Knockout Cup.

Munns also plays for his new gaffer Rawlings on Saturdays for Castle Combe in Division One of the Wiltshire League. As with White Hart, Rawlings has done a fantastic job in turning Combe's fortunes around and they are now sitting pretty in third spot having finished third from bottom last term.

Rawlings knows almost everything about his latest signing and he believes that 26-year-old Munns will help bolster his team for what should be an assault on the summit later in the campaign.

If Munns can transfer his Saturday form to Sundays, he will make a big difference to White Hart, who have been hit with the withdrawal of players in recent weeks due to injuries and work commitments.
