Young guns can prove their worth

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Tuesday 10th Jan 2006.

SWINDON Town's young stars will be out to impress this afternoon as the table-topping reserves return to action with a clash against Bournemouth.

The fixture was originally scheduled to take place at Bournemouth but was switched to the County Ground at the Cherries' request (kick- off 2pm.) With Town's loanees returned to their respective clubs, boss Andy Reeves will give a number of youth players their chance, including teenage striker Lukas Jutkiewicz, who is impressing in the youth team.

Matty Bulman, Kyle Lapham, Michael Pook, Chris Taylor, Leigh Henry and Nicky Nicolau will also feature.

Reeves said: "With six or seven of our loanees leaving the club a few of the young lads, who have not had much of a chance in the reserves, will get their chance.

"Unless we bring new faces into the club, they will get more opportunities this season. Results are not everything but it is good to install a winning mentality."
