Hot-shot Adam’s treble

NORTH WILTS & DISTRICT YOUTH & MINOR LEAGUE: Under 16 - Leaders Wroughton A continued their winning ways with a 7-2 home win over Walcot Wanderers.

The division's top scorer Adam Leighfield bagged another hat-trick, Craig Rogers hit a brace and Jack Gannon and Adam Burson completed the scoring.

Hot on their heels are Stratton Juniors who maintained their 100 per cent record when they gave Wootton Bassett a footballing lesson at Ballards Ash.

It was a fairly even contest for the first 20 minutes until a defensive error allowed Stratton to win possession on the right hand side and a superb cross was met by the head of Dave Glover.

Matty Gilder then put the visitors two up and then scored a third through Glover.

After the break Stratton made the points secure with further goals from Glover, completing his hat-trick, and one from Dan Wilson.

In the other match played Lydiard Youth picked up a valuable point with a fine 1-1 draw at Wroughton B.

Under 18

Just one game was played, with fourth-placed Wootton Bassett Town meeting fifth-placed Purton.

In a high-scoring game, Wootton Bassett consolidated in fourth spot with a 5-2 win, thanks to goals from Tim Gleed (2), Tom James, Wayne Matthews and Dan Lowes.

Under 15

Top match in the division was at Ridgeway School where the top two, AFC Barbury and Brunel Boys, met.

Barbury put a three-point gap between the sides with a 4-2 home win thanks to goals from Max Etheridge, Dan Franklin, Stuart Hillis and Joe Rayson.

Stratton Juniors B went level on points with Brunel Boys with a 3-0 home win over Ferndale Rodbourne, George Drewitt hit two and Saxon Sheppard got the third.

Westlea Wanderers stayed in touch with the leaders with a 7-1 home win over Croft Juniors, David Bray (3), Gary Singh, Tony O'Connell, Marcus Fylan-Smith and Callum Jones scoring.

Swindon Soccer Skills also remain on the edge of the title race after an 8-2 win over Fairford, Callum Finigan (3), Joe Sturla, Carl Dumper, Andy Bilko, Imman Bains and Domenic Gregorace getting the goals. George Tertois and Tom Jenkins scored both for Fairford.

At the other end of the table Shrivenham & Watchfield hit five without reply against bottom club Penhill Allstars. Adam Brooks hit a hat-trick, with Jack Wright and Oliver Bailey getting the other goals.

Wootton Bassett Town and Shaw were involved in a tight game at Ballards Ash, Bassett eventually edging it 4-2, Harry Fitzwilliams getting a hat-trick and Chris Edwards getting the fourth for Bassett.

Under 14 Division 1

The top two both won again. Second-placed Bemerton Heath Harlequins maintained their 100 per cent record with a comprehensive 11-0 win over Old Town United.

Callum Coker led the way with a hat-trick, two apiece for Sam Aldridge and Josh Carter, and one each for Tom Plant, Lloyd Barr, Tewi Te-Pou and Harvey Coker.

The top game in the division was between Ferndale Rodbourne A and Lydiard Youth.

In a classic match, Lydiard Youth edged it by the odd goal in five, Will Greer scoring all three Lydiard goals.

Another player to hit a hat-trick was Todd Hathaway, who scored three in Fairford's 4-2 win at Croft Juniors.

Under 14 Division 2

Purton went three points clear at the top of the table with a 5-2 win over Stratton Juniors B.

Alex Green (2), Adam Bedwell, Dan Zammit and Ryan Norman scored for Purton, Gary Pockett and Liam Kearns getting the consolation goals for Stratton Juniors B.

Brunel Boys kept in touch with a 7-2 home win over Ferndale Rodbourne B. James Clifford hit four, James Archer, Adam Elbrow and Tom Tough getting the other goals.

It was a great day for Blunsdon Colts as they secured their first point of the season with a 4-4 draw with Highworth Juniors. Zac Ockwell hit two for Blunsdon.

Wootton Bassett Town picked up their third win of the season with a 4-1 home win over Ramsbury, two apiece for both Nick Farrow and Martyn Plaistow in this one.

Sherston had a fine 14-2 win at Stratton Youth, Billy Breen and Joe Ranger scoring for Stratton Youth.

Under 14 League Cup

Shaw and Malmesbury made it through to the last eight of the cup with wins against Liden Community and Swindon Soccer Skills respectively.

Shaw were 6-1 winners at home. Josh Brown fired a hat-trick, Craig Mooney two and there was one for Luke Underwood.

Malmesbury defeated Division 2 side Swindon Soccer Skills 5-2. Danny Cook (2), Sam Jenner (2) and Thomas Cook scoring for Malmesbury, Cayque De Sousa and Tom Melon-Ruddock replying for Soccer Skills.

Under 13 League Cup

Stratton Juniors B made it safely through for a quarter-final match up with Old Town United with a 9-0 demolition of Ferndale Rodbourne B.

On target for Stratton were Nathan Richens with four, Jordan O'Reilly (2), Jake Henwood, Aaron Webb and George Bull.

Two goals for Lydiard Youth from Daniel Stretton were not enough as they went down 7-2 at home against Ferndale Rodbourne A.

Under 13 Division 1

Just one game was played, Stratton Juniors defeating Croft Juniors 6-0 to go joint top of the table.

Aaron Webb hit a hat-trick, Nathan Richens two and Jordan O'Reilly one completing an excellent weekend for Stratton as they made the last eight of the cup and went top of the pile in the league.

Under 13 Division 2

AFC Swindon reversed their 5-1 defeat at Fairford on the opening day of the season with a victory over leaders Fairford by the same score.

Jack Sullivan opened the scoring with a volley early in the second half, which was followed by two goals by Jamie Cherry, one by Antony Alcock, and a third goal by Cherry in the last minute to complete his hat-trick.

Second-placed Ferndale Rodbourne B had a comprehensive 16-0 win at South Cerney, while Highworth Juniors A remain third following a 4-1 win over stable mates Highworth Juniors B, Dean Lewis scoring for the B side.

Lydiard Youth made up for the previous day's cup defeat with a 7-2 win at Old Town United, Daniel Stretton (3), Sam Golding (2), Chris Balfe and Neo Mathola for Lydiard, Ben Smith with both Old Town goals.

Under 12 Division 1

It is now 11 from 11 for Highworth Juniors after their latest win at Stratton Juniors, Danny Hale getting both goals in their 2-0 win.

Greenmeadow A lost ground when they went down 4-3 at Uffington, Jack Hegg (2), Andrew Lawrence and Tim Fuller scoring for Uffington.

There was a first win of the season for Purton, lifting them off the bottom of the table. Ben Preston, Jack Gruar and Scott Chilcott getting the all important goals in their 3-1 win.

Croft Juniors A had an excellent 9-0 home win over FC Abbey Meads. Mark Jones scored four, Mitchell Thomas, James Kearns, Amran Nawaz and Aaron Webb getting the other goals.

A hat-trick from Edward Acott, two for Bradley Ray and one for Charlie Basilone did the damage for Ferndale Rodbourne in their 6-0 win over Wroughton.

Under 12 Division 2

Leaders Wootton Bassett Town visited Shaw and left with all three points following a 6-2 win. Gavin Brown (3), Bradley Bancroft (2) and Aidan Cressey for Bassett, Leuan Walton and Chris Richards for Shaw.

Two goals from Jamie Howitt-Bowdidge, plus one for James Lee, secured the points for Croft Juniors B against Liden Community, 3-1 the score in this one.

Under 12 Division 3

Ashton Keynes and Old Town United B closed the gap on leaders Marlborough Town.

Ashton Keynes were 5-1 winners at home against Blunsdon Colts, courtesy of goals from Ryan Riddett (3), Jonathan Barham and Huw Humphreys.

Jimmy Horwood (2) and Lewis Bearman-Stephens bagged the goals for Old Town in their 3-1 win over Highworth Town, Jake Holt with the Highworth consolation goal.
