BERKS & BUCKS U13 CUP: Shrivenham & Watchfield Royals, Swindon's only representative in the Berks & Bucks Under 13 Cup, faced a trip into the unknown with an away match against Scot Youth of Milton Keynes.
But the long journey proved worthwhile as the Royals came away with a 5-1 victory.
The match started well with the Royals working hard for each other. Within 10 minutes they won a corner which Olllie Waite swung in high and hard and directly into the back of the net.
The Royals kept up the pressure and restricted Scot Youth's chances to a few long range shots.
With Nathan Hawkins pulling the strings in midfield the Royals continued to press forward and were rewarded with a shot from Craig Thompson which gave the Royals a 2-0 lead at half-time.
The Royals started the second half at a gallop and Thompson scored two more goals to give him his hat-trick.
Scot Youth came back strong and managed to pull one back, but with Lewis Dancer marshalling the defence, that was their last real attempt on goal.
The Royals continued to press forward and man of the match, Nathan Hawkins, followed up a rebounded effort to give the Royals a comfortable win.
