Cup joy for top two teams

NORTH WILTS & DISTRICT YOUTH & MINOR LEAGUE: Under 11 North - With County Cup action this weekend, just two games were played, but it allowed Robins and Stratton Juniors to catch up the other sides in terms of games played.

Siddington Youth consolidated in third spot with a 2-0 home win over Stratton Juniors, Matthew Fletcher and Nathan Littler on target for Siddington.

Robins and Hungerford, the two sides without a point before this weekend, shared two goals and the points.

Top two Greenmeadow and Wootton Bassett Town continue to fly the flag in the third round of the Tesco County Cup for the North Wilts & District League, along with Lydiard Youth, all with wins over fellow North Wilts sides.

Greenmeadow were 6-0 winners over Croft Juniors A, Connor Waldon (3), Carl Merchant, Daniel Dicks and Callum Fitzgerald their scorers.

Wootton Bassett Town won 5-0 at Cricklade, while Lydiard Youth defeated Highworth Juniors 11-1.

Ferndale Rodbourne's interest in the competition ended when they went down 3-1 at Melksham Town.

Under 11 West

Malmesbury closed the gap to leaders Highworth Town and Liden to just two points with a 6-2 win, thankls to goals from Matthew Fusco (2), Jacob Pinnell (2), Will Picter and Max Charman.

Goals from Jack Duffy (2), Karl Godwin and Eddie Donmez gave Purton a 4-2 win over Uffington United.

Under 11 Central

Tetbury went back top of the table in style, hitting 16 without reply against Shrivenham & Watchfield.

Their scorers were Anthony Hillman (3), Charlie Davies (3), Jack Bronley (2), Richard Cary (2), Jock Black (2), Jamie Warner, Oliver Dean, Alex Bryce and Ryan Brushneen.

Penhill Knights and Croft Juniors B shared six goals and the points.

There were goals galore at Wanborough as visitors Coleshill Juniors fired eight against Wanborough, who replied with four of their own.

Two apiece for each of Vito Faircloth, Luke Whittington, Elliott Yarwood and Oliver Attwood for Coleshill, Oliver Powell and Matthew Raymond also getting two for Wanborough.

Under 10 North

Shaw now look favourites to lift the title, opening up a five- point gap after a 10-4 win at Lydiard Youth.

Shaw scorers included Chris Siddle, Matt Jones, Nathan Spurrett and Callum Marshall, who each scored twice, and Dale Richards. Michael Norcliffe with a hat-trick and Max Slinn replied for Lydiard.

The only unbeaten side in the division lost that record when Ferndale Rodbourne defeated Wootton Bassett Town 4-0.

Matthew Wood, Jack Clifton, Jacob Davidge and Christian Mead scored the Ferndale goals.

Stratton Juniors A joined Bassett and Robins in second place after gaining a 4-0 win at Greenmeadow A, Jack Davies (2), Christy Millar and Alex Bateman with their goals.

Two goals from Connor Howie plus one for Tom Whatley saw Croft Juniors home by the odd goal against Wroughton A.

Under 10 West

leaders Wickham Wanderers hit six without reply against Liden Community. Their scorers were Aiden Weeks (2), Josh Way (2), Oli Sopp and Jordan Shaw.

Highworth Juniors A remain- ed nine points adrift with three games in hand following their latest win, 7-1 against Old Town United A. Fraser Evans (3), Connor Berry (2), Connor Simpson and William Donaldson with the Highworth goals.

Ferndale Rodbourne B lost ground when they went down to a Alex Baker strike against Swindon Soccer Skills.

Highworth Juniors C stayed fourth after a 3-1 win at FC Abbey Meads, Lewis Holmes scoring for Abbey Meads.

A Ryan Jackson hat-trick plus two apiece for Jack Peare and Daniel Hill helped Stratton Youth to all three points as they defeated Fairford 7-3.

Under 10 Central

Leaders Stratton Juniors B were made to work hard for the points by visitors Penhill Knights, 4-2 the final score.

Jack Hatherall hit two, Jack Stanley and an own goal completed the scoring for the leaders. Jordan Baverstock and Tyler Rudman scored for Penhill.

Croft Juniors found their scoring boots away at Penhill Allstars, 13-1 the final score. Drew Roberts was star of the show with a double hat-trick, Oliver Dalglish and Harry Guyatt scored twice and there was one for Josh Cullen and Leon Perrott.

Fourth placed Blunsdon won by a single goal against Old Town United B, while goals from Charlie Pugh (2), Jaeden Pedley (2) and Ryan King gave Eldene Rangers a 5-1 win over Greenmeadow B.

Under 10 South

The top two met at Shrivenham and it was visitors South Cerney who opened up a three-point lead after a 3-1 win, Will Pearson scored the consolation goal for Shrivenham.

Marlborough went joint third after a 2-1 win over Wanborough, Matthew Williams getting both Marlborough goals, Gareth Hook replying.

Ramsbury beat near neighbours Hungerford 4-1, Jordan Rowland, Ben Cipolla, Charlie Hewlett and Liam Keen scoring for Ramsbury, Jack Rowell for Hungerford.

Under 9 North

The top two met, and it was honours even between Swindon Soccer Skills A and Lydiard Youth, 1-1 the final score. Ross Algar scored for the home side, Nathan Jones replying for Lydiard.

Third-placed Purton Westbrook A were also held to a 1-1 draw at Wroughton, Nial Alstowe netting for Wroughton, Daniel Loyden for Purton Westbrook A.

Wootton Bassett Town closed the gap on the top three with a 3-2 home win over Hungerford Town thanks to two goals from Josh Bolton and one from Martin Bates. Goals from Max Drayton (2), Tyler Ross and Callum Atkins helped Highworth Juniors A to a 4-0 win at Greenmeadow A.

Highworth Town were 3-0 winners at Ferndale Rodbourne A in the other match played.

Under 9 West

Robins marched on at the top following a 4-2 away success at Blunsdon Colts, courtesy of goals from Charlie Stone with a hat-trick and Scott Palethorpe.

FC Abbey Meads moved into second spot following a Ryan Noel-inspired 3-1 win at Croft Juniors A, Noel hitting all three goals.

Old Town United and Stratton Juniors lost ground as they drew 1-1, Ashley Trowbridge for Stratton, Ben Cox for Old Town.

Congratulations to Shaw for gaining their first win of the season, a 3-1 away success at Marlborough. On target for Shaw were Michael Doust, Carl Reid and Adam Stacey, Oliver Morris replying for Marlborough.

South Marston Saints and Ferndale Rodbourne B shared the points and four goals, Josh Ayres and Callum Wells for South Marston, Saime Sahin and Lawrence Rees for Ferndale.

Under 9 Central

Leaders Cirencester Town opened up a 10-point gap after a 3-0 home win over Coleshill Juniors, Joe Train scoring two and Thomas Luce the other.

Second played third in the top game in the division and neither did the other any favours as White Horse Juniors and Ramsbury drew 1-1. Tom Baguely netted for White Horse, Joe Smith for Ramsbury.

Ferndale Rodbourne C are fourth following a 4-1 away win at Shrivenham & Watchfield, Alex White, Josh Smith, Max Kitchin and Oliver Clark for Ferndale, Liam Deans for Shrivenham.

Cricklade Youth had an excellent 5-2 win in the local derby at Ashton Keynes.

Under 9 South

Cirencester Town B head the division after a 2-1 away win at Hungerford Town B, Aaron Culley scoring for Hungerford.

Swindon Soccer Skills are second after a comprehensive 12-0 win at FC Abbey Meads B. On target for Soccer Skills were Sam Guy (3), Bradley Houston (3), Antonio Gerrish (2), Harry Knowles, James Cumner and Alex Crozier.

Ferndale Rodbourne D lost top spot when they went down 4-1 at home against Wootton Bassett Town B.

Goals from Arjun Patel and Ashley Palfree ensured a 2-0 success for Highworth Juniors over Greenmeadow.

Purton Westbrook B were 4-1 winners at home against Croft Juniors B, two for George Dudman and one each for Andrew Kettlewell and Jamie Lewis in this one.
