Owners thrilled after being reunited with their pet dog

A COUPLE who have been searching for their missing dog have been reunited with their beloved pet, thanks to the Advertiser.

Dougal, pictured, a black and white terrier, had disappeared while out for a walk with his owner at Coate Water on Saturday.

But he is now back at home, safe and sound with his owners after a family from Park South spotted him wandering across the Lawns.

"One minute he was there and the next time I turned around he had gone," said his owner Jean Morris, who had spent the weekend searching for Dougal.

An appeal was placed in the Advertiser and the call came just hours later.

"A lady rang asking whether we'd lost a little dog with a tuft on his head," said Mrs Morris.

"They had been trying to find us since they found him. But he'd lost the tag off his collar so they had no way of contacting us. We knew he was probably trying to make his way home and from what the lady said that is exactly what he was doing."
