Distributors win contest at first attempt

From the archive, first published Wednesday 21st Sep 2005.

STAFF from a distribution centre had a knockout time when they joined in a slapstick competition.

Exel from South Marston Industrial Park took part in the It's a Knockout competition against nine other centres in the company's first appearance in the contest.

The team and its group of supporters travelled up by coach to Long Eaton in Nottingham, and came home with a cup and a shield, as well as £500 to be donated to a local charity of choice in this case the Prospect Hospice and £250 for a night out for themselves.

Liz White, from Exel's social club said: "A good time was had by all, even if the competitors got very wet!"
