No problems with Newport County game

From the archive, first published Saturday 26th Nov 2005.

SALISBURY City manager Nick Holmes has confirmed today's FA Trophy 3rd qualifying round tie with Newport County will go ahead.

Despite the week's inclement weather and overnight frost, the pitch at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium is in good shape.

"The covers did their job in the corners," said Holmes.

"We had quite a bit of frost overnight but there's no problems."

Kick off is 3pm.
