Fairford on Didcot revenge mission

From the archive, first published Friday 28th Oct 2005.

FA VASE: VASE holders Didcot have a bye at this stage of the competition, so they will be otherwise engaged in Hellenic League action.

Fairford have been handed the chance to keep them busy and it's a perfect opportunity for the boys from Cinder Lane to recapture some lost pride after Kev Moloney's side were hammered 5-0 in the reverse fixture.

"They are a good team without a doubt, but they are beatable," said Moloney.

"We're at home and we were embarrassed last time so we've got a point to prove against them."

Lee Stoddart returns to the fray but Ryan Lovegrove is unavailable.

It's derby day in Division One West as Cricklade entertain fellow strugglers Purton.

The away side will be without striker Warren Fuller who has suffered a broken ankle.

Malmesbury Vics host Cirencester United.

Wootton Bassett are without a game but manager Paul Burke has moved to recruit former Bristol Rovers teenager Sam Lawro.
