The Commercial House Winter League match on the Bristol Avon from Beanacre to Whaddon produced good sport.
Bendix A took top spot in A division with 31.5 points while Avon Rubber took top spot in B Division with 32.
Individual honours went to Glen Bailey, of Bendix, with a mixed catch of bream, small chub and roach weighing 25lb 13oz taken alternating with waggler and stick floated red maggots and casters.
Derek Coles of Daiwa BAC was second with a mixed catch of chub and roach weighing 12lb 10oz, followed by Leon Hubbard of Sensas Bathampton Avon Aquatics with 12lb 3oz taken on stick floated casters.
Other placings: 4 Geoff Hunt Karaoke Nights 10lb 12oz; 5 Mark Kemp Superseal 9lb 13oz; 6 Pete Sivell Bendix 9lb 7oz. Teams: A Division: 1 Bendix 31.5; 2 Sensas Bathampton Avon Aquatics 26; 3 Superseal 24. B Division: 1 Avon Rubber 32; 2 CRE 25; 3 SWEB A 19.
Viaduct Fishery was in great form for the Wednesday Open match with carp feeding ravenously. Top honours went to Mosella star Tony Rixon with a carp catch weighing 176lb 13oz. Runner-up was Clayton Hudson of Mosella with 143lb 15oz. He was followed by Gary Etheridge, of Devizes, with 132lb 2oz taken. Other placings: 4 Paul Garrett, Team Sillybait, 134lb 13oz; 5 Dean Malin, Dynamite Baits, 133lb 7oz. Top silver fish catch Ian Oakley, Warminster, 28lb 4oz.
Fish were hard to tempt in the Calne Pairs match at Hazeland. Individual honours went to Martin Dolman, of Calne, with an all-gudgeon catch weighing 5lb 1oz 8dm. Pete Halliday, of Calne, was second with 3lb 7oz and third Simon Fear, of Calne, with 2lb 3oz 8dm.
The pairs prize went to Martin Dolman and Tim Carr, of Calne, with a combined weight of 5lb 9oz. Other placings: 4 Paul Cadogan, Calne, 1lb 8oz; 5 Nick Loafy, Calne, 14oz; 6 Tim Carr, Calne, 7oz 8dm.
Competitors in the Bath Spartans match found the going tough on the Bristol Avon at Malmesbury on Sunday. Winner was Martin Francis, of Bath, with 7lb 3 oz .
Chris Konieczny, of Calne, took runner-up with 7lb 7oz taken. Third prize went to to Dave Targett, of Bath, 5lb 8oz. Other placings: 4 Steve Cross, Calne, and Nick Shinn, Bath, 5 lb 0oz; 6 Terry Bryant, Bath, 3 lb 11oz.
