I see from today's Gazette that the car park behind Tesco is being turned into shops. Who thought up this idea? This will mean that about 200 car parking spaces will be lost. Where are we going to park?
Fewer parking spaces mean that fewer people will come to Devizes, which means fewer shoppers, which means the shops that may be built will be poorly served. People can park in Station Road car park or the Wharf car park or go to Morrisons car park or Lidl's car park. Both these are out of town.
There is a lot of wasted space behind Lidl which could use shops. If Tesco's car park is turned into shops I will do all my shopping once a week at Trowbridge where there is plenty of parking.
