CHIPPENHAM SUNDAY LEAGUE: With Spencer Sports unable to defend the Westernsport Trophies sponsored WG Parr Trophy, this season's competition is wide open with anyone of a handful of clubs capable of adding their name to the trophy.
Semington Rovers visited The Crown FC and they were too good for their Fourth Division opponents, as they came away with a 6-2 victory.
Josh Mills and Stuart Barber hit two apiece with Braber's second coming from the penalty spot.
Bobby Mitchell and Stewart Donohoe who started the scoring for Rovers after just 30 seconds were also on the scoresheet. Jason Lucas and Rob Mitchell replied for the Crown.
Holt FC's first ever Parr Trophy fixture ended in victory as they progressed to the last 16 courtesy of the 3-0 win over a battling Kingfisher side.
Olly Gee opened the scoring with a goal of sheer class and Tom Pang added a second. With the game safe a rare appearance upfront from defender Stuart Faint led to the diminutive veteran scoring for the first time in two years.
Division One's Potterne FC proved too much for Second Division Sutton Benger with a 5-0 win. Myles Hickton enhanced his growing reputation with two, Andy Bevan-Witts, Steven House and substitute Johnny Emm all added singles.
North Star A didn't play well against Sir Audley's Arms but did enough to see off the challenge. Dale Smith, Mark Sharrett, Stuart Riley and Pete Thornton shared the Star's goal with Kieron Smith bagging the Arms' consolation.
After reaching the quarter-finals last season Chippenham Police's cup dream ended at the first attempt with a 9-2 drubbing at the hands of Colerne.
The Police started the better of the two teams despite going a goal down after Charlie Spirell converted a dubious penalty. Mark Simpson prodded home an equaliser.
Colerne retook the lead with a fine shot from Jamie Bowler but Police hit back with Craig Holden scoring his first for the club. Colerne then hit three quick goals before the break to put the game out of reach.
Colerne added a further four second-half goals to cement their place in the next round Bowler added two more to complete his hat-trick ,John Gliding took the individual scoring honours for the day with five.
KSM continue to be a nemesis for Pack Horse Rangers, with a 5-0 success.
Ben Husband, John Baker's first goal for the club and a hat-trick from Aaron Pearce allowed the Division Four team to ease home.
Third Division Wheatsheaf FC, supported by a large crowd and their own troop of cheerleaders, were not overawed by The Crown Devizes from a higher division and should have been two up within 10 minutes. The deadlock was broken when Chris Long's corner was met by Richard Boden whose glancing header beat a clutch of defenders on the line. Minutes later a hopeful ball found Boden whose accurate shot from 25 yards found the net. On 57 minutes a corner fell to Chris Long who smashed the ball home from 22 yards to earn Wheatsheaf a 3-0 win.
Third division leaders AFC Calne were given a lesson in finishing by Parsons Nose as the Second Division outfit coasted into round two with a comprehensive 6-1 victory.
With Calne still struggling from injuries a patched up side took to the field at Awdrey Avenue but wished they hadn't as goals from Mark James (2), Darren Whiting, Danny Reeves, Rick Noonan and Steve Pegler who started the scoring after 30 minutes.
Biddestone Arms' game with Somerford FC was held up for 30 minutes following a serious injury to Biddestone's Will Elliott.
The game continued and they needed another 30 minutes extra time to find a winner. That was eventually Somerford, who won 5-2. Chris Yeo bagged four with Nick Bloodworth making it five.
