Honda stays quiet over car production fears

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Friday 9th Jan 2004.

Honda has refused to comment on whether Britain's exclusion from the Euro would threaten car production in Swindon.

This follows Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn's repeated warnings that its Sunderland plant could lose production of one of its most important cars if Britain remains outside the euro.

A spokesman for Honda in Swindon said: "We have always said it would be more favourable for us if we were in the euro, but that is a decision for the British public."
