A BRADFORD ON AVON school needs volunteers to give something back to their community as school governors.
Fitzmaurice Primary School urgently needs two new Local Education Authority governors to complete the 18-strong board.
Chairman of Fitzmaurice governors Ruth Marshman said: "We need governors who are part of the community but might have experience in business or management.
"We also need someone who is good at finding grants and funding and has the time to fill out all the forms for that, or people who have experience of land or site management.
"Our meetings are in the evening so it can fit around a full-time job but the person would need to come into school a few times a year."
Mrs Marshman is a parent governor and has been on the board for three years.
She said: "For anyone this is a satisfying job. Knowing you are involved in developing your community is great.
"I worry people are so busy these days it will become harder to recruit governors.
"I talk to other local schools and some of them are having the same problems."
A Wiltshire County Council spokesman said: "The work of governors is vital to the smooth running of the schools in the county."
Anyone interested in becoming a governor should contact Wiltshire County Council on (01225) 713821.
