Break-in at rugby club

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Friday 2nd Jan 2004.

Would-be thieves targeted the new rugby club at Winsley in the run-up to Christmas.

A window was forced and the alarm activated at the club early on the morning of December 22.

Bradford on Avon PC Martin Annetts said: "The building was Lottery funded for the benefit of the community so someone has not shown much Christmas spirit. They levered a window causing untold aggro for nothing. The club is keen to point out that there is no cash or valuables kept there."

Anyone with information should call police on (01225) 862222.
