Free advice for small operators

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Friday 4th Jul 2003.

BUSINESS people in south Wiltshire are being invited to a free seminar in Salisbury next Tuesday to find out how the Government's Small Firms Initiative can help them.

The half-day seminar, at the White Hart Hotel, is being run by Business Link Berkshire and Wiltshire's new Workforce Development Advisory Service.

They are urging firms in the area that employ between five and 49 people about 1,150 of them to share in the £30 million initiative.

A business development programme is being made available to them for a fraction of the usual price.

Worth £2,500, the BDP will be subsidised. Companies employing fewer than 10 people will pay £500. Companies employing up to 49 people will pay £750.

The Salisbury event is one of a series across Wiltshire and is part of a plan to improve the business potential for companies in the area.

The programme includes a business planning phase, ongoing direct support and guidance from accredited advisers, access to on-line support packages and workshop development sessions.

The seminar runs from 9am until 1.00pm. Bookings can be made on 0845 600 41 41.
