Performance in spotlight

THE Environment Agency's annual focus on corporate behaviour and its impact on the environment, called Spotlight on Business Environmental Performance, will be published at the end of this month.

Spotlight reports on good and poor environmental performance during 2002 by the industries and businesses that the Environment Agency regulates in England and Wales.

It aims to encourage businesses and individuals to take greater responsibility for their environmental performance and reduce their impact on the environment.

In 2001, the agency brought more than 1,500 successful charges and served about 500 enforcement notices.
