Pub wins training award

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Friday 4th Jul 2003.

Marlborough's Castle and Ball Hotel has won a training award for its commitment to employee development.

The High Street hotel won the prize from its owners, Greene King.

Managers, Wesley and Jacqueline Sheldon were honoured at an award ceremony attended by over 1,200 of their industry colleagues at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

Neil Gillis said: "Each award is hotly contested and the competition this time was greater than ever following the expansion of the company over the last 12 months."

"This award is given for dedication to high levels of employee training and the Castle and Ball Hotel thoroughly deserves the title of the hotel division's best training hotel for 2003."
