A TALENTED young cartoonist from Calne was rewarded by charity ChildLine on Wednesday.
Jake South, 11, from John Bently Language School, was one of 10 winners at a special awards ceremony at the Natural History Museum in London.
He was presented with an Apple iMac computer for his school and his cartoon was professionally reproduced, framed and signed by Mark Speight, presenter of CBBC's art programme, SMART!
On the judging panel was Esther Rantzen, chairman of ChildLine.
She said: "Judging the cartoons was enormous fun and we were amazed by all the brilliant ideas choosing winners from almost 1,000 entries was no easy task.
"Our congratulations go to Jake for his wonderful cartoon, he really did show a good understanding of the issues of respect, tolerance, compassion and empathy."
Nearly 1,000 school children from around the country designed cartoons for the Helping Kids Grow competition sponsored by Kellogg's Corn Flakes.
Children were asked to design a cartoon exploring the concept of respect.
Also on the judging panel was BBC newsreader Sophie Raworth.
