Ham-mer blow

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Thursday 22nd May 2003.

Food processing company Hygrade, based at Corsham and Chippenham, has lost its six-year battle to process Parma ham, following a challenge by an Italian Parma ham trade consortium.

European judges have ruled that the ham must be packed and sliced in Parma if it is to be sold as Parma ham. Hygrade was caught up in the row because it used to process the ham for supermarket giant Asda.
