Potter fans' wizard quest

DOZENS of young Harry Potter fans in Chippenham are brushing up their magical know-how before the Wizard Quest, which aims to find the brainiest junior wizard in Britain.

The Chippenham heat will be held at Ottakar's bookshop, in Borough Parade, on May 31.

Prospective wizards will demonstrate their knowledge of magic in a written examination and 30 winners will go through to the second heat at Alnwick Castle, where the Harry Potter movies were filmed.

The winners will enjoy a wizard day, culminating in a chance to win £200 and one of five pairs of tickets to see author JK Rowling in London's Royal Albert Hall at the launch of the fifth book in the series Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix

"This is a really exciting opportunity," said Chippenham manager Louis Brittain.

"Most tickets are to be distributed to schools so we are very lucky to have some for our customers.

"The winners will have an incredible day. This really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Application forms are still available at Ottakar's but must be returned by Saturday.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, will be available at midnight on June 21.
