Cash stolen

FRESHBROOK: Two doorstep con artists claiming to be police officers called at a house in Crawford Close and stole a black leather purse containing £140 cash and a ring. The man and woman managed to gain entry on the pretext of checking security.

While one kept the female houseowner talking in the kitchen, the other rifled through the living room. The incident happened last Saturday.

The suspects are described as a white man, aged 30, who wore a black suit and pale blue shirt, and a white woman aged 25 with blonde, shoulder length hair.

Police are urging anyone approached by the couple to contact them on Swindon 528111 or Crimestoppers on (0800) 555111.
