Raid seizes swords and drugs

A HAUL of class A drugs and two Samurai Swords were uncovered in a series of coordinated raids.

As part of Operation Defy which is aimed at targeting class A drug dealers in the town, police officers targeted a number of addresses in the Walcott area, on Thursday evening.

They seized drugs including heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis as well as offensive weapons, following the execution of search warrants under the misuse of drugs act. Officers also seized a stash of suspected stolen goods.

Fourteen people were arrested, three of them are still in custody awaiting interview, one has formally been cautioned and 10 have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
