Keeping people in touch

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Saturday 1st Mar 2003.

WOOTTON Bassett Council is to replace seven notice boards throughout the town to keep residents informed.

And although the council is on the verge of launching a new website, it is thinking of residents who prefer traditional forms of communication or perhaps do not have access to a computer.

Mayor Peter Taylor said: "The council is delighted to be installing the notice boards in and around town.

"The notice boards have a traditional oak effect but are actually made out of recycled plastic.

"With regard to the notice board that will soon be installed at the Town Hall, this area falls within the conservation area and has had to be manufactured out of cast iron to match the existing High Street furniture."
