Charities invited to apply for new grants

From the Amesbury Journal, first published Monday 27th Oct 2003.

THOUSANDS of pounds are now available for charities in Wiltshire.

Organisations can apply for grants of between £250 and £7,000 to help with a range of activities.

These could include:

offering children the chance to achieve goals that they could not otherwise attain.

setting up schemes to help families improve their living standards or cope on low incomes.

giving young people a chance to have their voices heard.

helping young people who are isolated or alone (perhaps through family problems or living in rural areas).

Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation administers the fund, which is provided by the government.

In association with the project, the Charities Information Bureau provides advice and support to those who might want to apply.

Members of the bureau are available to talk through any ideas and can be reached on 01380 729279 or by e-mail at enquiries@cibwilts.or.uk.

Call 0845 1130161 for a local network application form.
