Mini racers raise £1,700

From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Thursday 16th Oct 2003.

The Mini Action Day at the Castle Combe circuit was highly successful after racing drivers collected more than £1,700 for three charities.

The group, called Mightys 4 Charity, raises funds by giving enthusiasts a three-lap drive around the circuit near Chippenham.

"We were amazed at the response and the generous support that we received," said group organiser Tim Harber of Kilcot, Gloucestershire.

The money will be divided between the Gloucestershire Multiple Sclerosis organisation, the Therapy Centre, and chloewright.com, a charity that has raised nearly half of the £250,000 target for a three-year-old girl who is being treated in Texas for a rare form of cancer.

Mr Harber thanked Castle Combe circuit for its help with fundraising.
