CHAMBER NEWS: SKILLS and training are to be the main focus of the West Wiltshire Economic Partnership in its plan for the next two years says chairman Barbara Speirs.
Mrs Speirs and partnership manager Adrian Garai also highlight transport, planning and regulations as other key issues for the period ahead and ones which will be the focus of the partnership's new manager.
Mr Garai leaves at the end of the month and his replacement will be announced shortly.
Looking back on his period as manager, Mr Garai said: "I have found it immensely encouraging through the leadership of the district council, and specifically that of chief executive Jeffrey Ligo and others, how the partnership has been able to come together when it has needed to deliver.
"We have seen some excellent results, particularly the efforts which brought Virgin Mobile to Trowbridge and United Milk to Westbury.
"There have been some areas where decisions have had to be supported by reams of paperwork and research and this has been frustrating, but overall it has been an enjoyable experience and I wish every success to my successor."
